About Attorney Tyler Williams

Criminal defense attorney serving Pembroke Pines and all of South Florida.

Biography

At sixteen, Tyler Williams watched his innocent friend get swallowed by a system that was supposed to protect them. That moment changed the course of his life. He decided he would become the voice that others never had — someone who would stand between people and injustice, no matter the odds.

Tyler earned his B.S. in Psychology from Fontbonne University, where he was a member of the basketball and track teams and developed a deep understanding of human behavior, decision-making, and the pressures people face in crisis. He then pursued his Juris Doctor at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, where his commitment to criminal defense took shape immediately.

From his first year at NSU, Tyler immersed himself in criminal defense. He interned at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office every year of law school, learning the mechanics of criminal cases from the ground up — discovery, motions, plea negotiations, and trial preparation. He served as Vice President of the Criminal Law Society during his 2L year, and competed with the Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Team during his 2L and 3L years, sharpening his courtroom advocacy against top law students from across the country.

During his final year of law school, Tyler served as a certified legal intern at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office. Rather than representing clients himself, he spent that time shadowing experienced public defenders — observing hearings, motions, and trial strategy up close and learning firsthand how seasoned attorneys build and argue a defense.

After graduating, Tyler served as a certified legal intern at the West Palm Beach State Attorney’s Office, where he gained firsthand insight into how the prosecution builds its cases from the other side. That experience gave him something most defense attorneys never get — an understanding of the State’s playbook, its strengths, and its weaknesses.

Tyler then joined the Broward County Public Defender’s Office as a full-time attorney, where he defended hundreds of clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges across the 17th Judicial Circuit.

He later brought his courtroom experience to a prominent criminal defense firm in Miami, where he developed innovative defense strategies for complex cases and continued to build his reputation as an aggressive, client-focused advocate.

Today, Tyler is the founder of Justice Beyond Law, a criminal defense firm based in Pembroke Pines serving clients across Broward County, Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach County, and all of South Florida. Every client gets direct access to their attorney — not a paralegal, not a secretary. Tyler handles every case personally because he believes that when your freedom is on the line, you deserve nothing less.
